The DC chapter of Families for Safe Streets testified in February 2026 at three key performance oversight hearings held by the DC Council: (1) the Office of the Attorney General; (2) the Department of Motor Vehicles; and (3) the Department of Public Works. The testimonies highlighted members’ lived experiences with traffic violence, current progress and areas to watch/ improve with the implementation of the STEER Act.
