FSS Cross-Country Support Community Meeting: Strategies and Emotions of Telling Our Stories

Wednesday, October 20 at 8pm eastern via Zoom

In this support community workshop, we will focus on how we share our stories — from the emotional roller coaster it often brings to tips and strategies. Whether speaking with family, friends and strangers or speaking publicly as part of our advocacy work, sharing our stories can be cathartic and painful, rewarding and draining, fulfilling and upsetting. We will be joined by peers from across the country and hope you can join us for this evening of guidance, mutual support and connection.

Please RSVP for log-in details. Participants must register to receive the Zoom link. Please feel free to share the Facebook event.

Media Training: Get Your Message Out on #WDoR2021 & Beyond

Wednesday, October 27 at 7:30pm eastern via Zoom

Getting your message out clearly and convincingly is key to making real change. Reaching news media is one of the most effective ways to influence change makers. This “hands-on” workshop led by Pedal Love’s founder, Melissa Balmer, will help Vision Zero advocates hone and deliver their messages for greater positive impacts. This event will include guidance on getting your message across in media interviews, submitting Op-Eds, using social media platforms like Twitter to connect and engage with the right journalists and more — all with a focus on controlling your own narrative and leveraging your passion for safe, vibrant, healthy streets. This session is being offered by the Vision Zero Network and is geared towards FSS members as well as advocacy organizations from across the country preparing for World Day of Remembrance and beyond.

Please register for log-in details.
