The DC chapter of Families for Safe Streets testified on June 16, 2025 at the DMV Budget Oversight Hearing held by the DC Council’s Committee on Transportation and the Environment. Testimonies asked the Council to continue funding the STEER Act, which addresses dangerous and reckless driving. Especially in the current challenging budget environment, the programs in the STEER Act represent smart fiscal opportunities that can benefit our city both financially and in terms of public safety.
