Recently Proposed Traffic Safety Legislation
The Council’s Committees on Transportation & the Environment and Public Works & Operations are holding a joint hearing scheduled for Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 9:30am to 5:30pm. The following bills will be discussed:
- License Suspension Reform Amendment Act of 2023 (Henderson, B25-0421)
- Automated Traffic Enforcement Effectiveness Amendment Act of 2023 (Henderson, B25-0422)
- Strengthening Traffic Enforcement, Education, and Responsibility (STEER) Amendment Act of 2023 (Allen, B25-0425)
- Fraudulent Vehicle Tag Enforcement Amendment Act of 2023 (Nadeau, B25-0435)

911 Call Center Operations
The Council’s Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety will hold a hearing scheduled on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 9:30am. The public is invited to testify with ideas for improvements to the 911 call center. This may be of interest to FSS members, as receiving care in the immediate aftermath of a crash is critical.
